Rie Croll - Shaped by Silence

Dr. Rie Croll was a finalist for the Atlantic Book Award for scholarly writing for her book, "Shaped by Silence."

Dr. Leslie Cake was awarded the distinction of Professor Emeritus, Memorial University.

Dr. Paul Foley and co-author Dr. Charlie Mather received the 2020 Best Paper Award for their journal Territory, Politics, Governance for our paper Ocean grabbing, terraqueous territoriality and social development. The award is presented by the Regional Studies Association for journal issues published in 2019.

Telex Ngatched was awarded the Grenfell Campus Research Award in recognition of his outstanding research accomplishments and contributions to the advancement of Grenfell's research profile.

Geoff Rayner-Canham was awarded the Lee Lorch Award, Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT)

Student awards and recognition

Tiffany Lyver was awarded the Kathleen Wagstaff MacCallum Memorial Scholarship.

Samantha Young received a $17,500 SSHRC grant for her research on community food systems in northern, rural, island regions. She also won a 2020 Grenfell Campus Engagement Award.

Muhammad Farhain was awarded with title of "Fellow of the school of Graduate Studies" in BEAS program.

Fourth-year visual arts student Rebecca Feaver won the 2020 Reginald and Helen Parsons Shepard Award.

TRSU PhD student Abdul-Latif Alhassan had several honours in 2020:

Benson Gihangange was awarded the Dean’s Doctoral Award.

Sara Langer-Smith was awarded the Dean’s Doctoral Award.

Roshayne Mendis received a 2020 Mitacs internship.

MFA student Chantal Pennell had the following honours:

D’Arcy Wilson of the school of Fine Arts was longlisted for the Sobey Art Award in 2020.
