"The School of Science and the Environment is home to a diverse range of research, ranging from the highly theoretical (such as pure mathematics and subatomic physics) to the very applied (such as agricultural science). We cover a broad range of disciplines from lab-based sciences such as biology and chemistry to work in social sciences such as economics and geography. We are home to two of Grenfell's major research initiatives -- namely the Environmental Policy Institute and Boreal Ecosystem Research Facility -- which enhance relationships with both public and private sector partners. Central to our research activities is the involvement of students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and many of our researchers are involved in partnerships with communities in the region, province and beyond."
